Training for the Walk

The route for the Charity Walk is Thames Path along River Thames to Maidenhead for one way and Runnymede to the other way – which is fairly flat and an easy to medium level walk. It is therefore advised that mild to moderate training is undertaken prior to the event. Preparation is key and will aid your enjoyment of the Walk whilst ensuring that your body is up to the task of this long walk.

There are several websites which outline details on how to prepare for long walks. One website we recommend is highlighted below, however there are many others that can be of assistance: www.marathonrunnersdiary.com
We recommend that you wear gym/workout clothes

Walkers are recommended to wear the shoes or boots that have been worn for training prior to the event to ensure your feet are as comfortable as possible on the day.
