Just Walk – was initiated for and on behalf of The Consortium for Street Children and immediately after the launch it was opened to all other charities to raise funds for their local charities.
The inaugural event of Just Walk on the 21st June 2015 – saw a crowd of 340 walkers raising funds for their respective charities. The exact amount of funds raised is unknown but it was estimated to be in the region of around £80,000 – and what a pleasure it was for those who took part in doing so. The walks on the longest day of the year turned out to be challenging but most enjoyable as you will see from the testimonials from the walkers.
It is seldom that a first event ever goes without a hitch. Our 10km walkers discovered to their horror that the route was more like 16km – but once the walk was completed they felt a sense of achievement and discovered their real fitness.
The event on 19th June 2016 will see the numbers increased with the option of walks increasing to four – a real Festival of Walks. Upon completion of your walk you will be returning to a carnival atmosphere whilst having your pre packed meal served by our own caterers in Alexandra Gardens – Windsor.
Just Walk offers a readymade walking event to any charity who do not have the resources to set up events on their own to raise funds. The walkers just need to pay the registration fee which includes the cost of the event, refreshments throughout the day followed by a meal at the end of the walk and of course your Medal. Any funds raised will go to your chosen charity.
There is no minimum sponsorships required – you could just register to test your fitness.
